Exciting Week!

This has been a pretty exciting week for me. First, I am super excited that I made my website looking presentable! It still needs a little work and I will probably have to hire someone out as I know nothing about web design, but it looks a million times better! Check it out: www.ashleypoolephotography.com. I have also cleared out and organized my studio! YAY!

I had a photoshoot last weekend with my dear friend, Amanda, and her daughter. These two were so much fun. It is always easier to photograph when you are capturing true emotion and I did just that! There is no denying how much the two of them love each other - next time we just need to get Daddy in on the action! These were a few of my favorites. Jordyn is just precious!

I had another shoot scheduled yesterday, but we really wanted to shoot outside and this rainy weather was an issue. Hoping the rain clears out and we can shoot on Friday! I am also looking forward to doing some Valentine's Day sessions. I found some adorable props at the store the other day.

And so it begins...

A few nights ago I was sitting next to my husband while I began clearing my computer of old pictures, documents, games, ect. Things that took up space that hadn't been viewed in years. I was about to delete every word document I had - as they were all old college papers or love letters to high school boyfriends; nothing but junk. I paused when I came across a document labeled "bucket list". It was an assignment from a college psychology course from years ago. We read it together and were surprised how many of those things listed were still goals of mine. Some had been completed and others I realized probably never will. Get married. Check. Have a child. Check. Go skydiving. No thank you.

Take photography classes. We laughed. I was scheduled to take my first photography class two days later. Between being a wife, a mother, trying to finish my college education, the only thing lately I have been able to call my own is photography. It is my escape from the rest of my life and a way to express myself. I have always struggled to find my passion. I truly believe I have found it in photography. People, places, nature. To capture a moment in time and make it last forever amazes me.

So here I am embarking on a new chapter of my life. A chapter that is just for me in many ways, but I also hope for many others.

Here are a few shots I took while taking a walk with my husband and son. These pictures warm my heart. The two of them together bring such joy to my life. I have captured the new, exciting, overwhelming love of a father to his new son. I have captured the innocence of my child as he explored the world around him. I hope my passion allows me to do the same for other families. To share in their joys and savor precious memories that will last a lifetime.
